Caleb and Joshua, in type, were those who embraced the Message of the Cross for sanctification, being strong in faith. The other "ten spies", who brought back an "evil report" of unbelief, are a type of those who hear, but reject, and consequently... perish in the "wilderness".
Today... about that same percentage will ACCEPT, And the same percentage REJECT.
Most are quite afraid of those "giants" of... rejection, loss of status & position, fear of the unknown, etc!
2. God said "And when I see the BLOOD I will pass over you." (Ex. 12:13), not... "when I see your PERFORMANCE"!
Dear Christian, "the sin nature" (yes you DO still got one of those!) will "run amok" unless you place your faith EXCLUSIVELY in the Blood of Christ. You CANNOT sanctify yourself! Satan just laughs his head off at that; It is the BLOOD that scares him spitless! (see Rev. 12:10-11).
Gotta go with what WORKS, folks! ("THE BLOOD"/ "THE CROSS" = synonymous). Romans 3:25; 5:9.... We are justified from sin (and REMAIN justified) by "faith in His Blood"... ALONE!!! ... And friend, you will never truly leave Egypt and it's bondage of Pharoah (Satan), until Your faith for Righteousness is exclusively in the slain unblemished Lamb (Christ) and its Blood (Christ's Blood Sacrifice on THE CROSS. And your faith must STAY there... DAILY! ... If not, you are in SELF- righteousness, and deserve to stay in bondage!!!
3. Adam, as a son of God (Lk. 3:38), sinned (Gen. 3:6); Then, he tried to EARN favor (3:7), hid from God (3:8), & blamed others (+God) for his sin. How 'bout U?
You never sin? Really? You are sinless? C'mon now! Let's get real. Romans 14:23 says that " .. whatsoever is not of faith is SIN." That could include quite a LOT, friend! You see... "sin" includes FAR MORE than immorality, lying, doing drugs, etc. SELF-RIGHTEOUSNESS IS THE WORST SIN OF ALL!
4. Jesus said, "My sheep hear My Voice, and I know them, and they follow me."
Notice how Jesus said that they are HIS sheep, and that they follow HIM? Meaning... that if some MAN (a preacher or ANY ONE) is telling you things that do not jive with the Bible..... R-U-N! !!! If you are just "nonchalant" and too busy with your own affairs.... sorry, God will not be interested (Rev. 3:15-20). .... and you will be deceived by Satan, and perish (2 Thes. 2:10-12; 1 Tim. 4:1-2; 2 Tim. 4:3-4; 3:13; Rev. 21:6-8). You see, just being "thirsty for God" is not enough. You must also desire TRUTH, for this is a part of God's VERY BEING! And at the HEART of this Truth is the sacrificial death of Christ on the Cross, that "Blood Sacrifice". If your faith is not THERE, ... forget it; NO TRUTH.

"Aww, I already KNEW that!", but then they turn right around and say, "You gotta do THIS!", and "You gotta avoid THAT!!", thus reverting back to "law"/ legalism for righteousness, thereby "frustrating the grace of God...." (Gal. 2:21; 5:4). So in reality... NO THEY DIDN'T know that! No man has the right to make a claim on God because of merit. It must all be by faith in Christ and the Cross (Rom. 3:20-21). A perfect "type" of this is illustrated by Cain and Abel, with their respective sacrifices they offered to the Lord: God accepted Abel's slain Lamb, and rejected Cain's offered fruit; and the offering being rejected so of necessity is the offerer. Thus Abel was ACCEPTED by God, Cain rejected, and then bitter, angry, and jealous of Abel.
7. Both the Jews and Gentiles condemned Christ (Mt. 20:17-19; Psa. 2:2-3) to the Cross, yet they themselves were ALREADY condemned unless they received Him as SAVIOR on that Cross! (Jn. 3:14-20; 8:24; Lk. 13:1-5). Jesus came to save those who DO receive Him and His Sacrifice!
God has PROVIDED a Way (Christ) and Means (the Cross) OUT of condemnation for man. THIS IS "THE GOSPEL" (GOOD NEWS). Yet if man REJECTS that Way and Means, he will, by default.... perish. "SIN" has GOT to be accounted for (either PUNISHED or FORGIVEN). God has only one avenue FOR forgiveness, and that is the Gospel which I have just stated. Today, in the majority of the organized church in America, we see a lot of "Cain's vegetables". "Ichabod" ("The glory of the Lord is departed"). CHURCH RETURN TO THE CROSS!!!!!!!!!!
This is utterly astounding, but let me share this with you: There are many people who ... never miss a day of church, faithfully tithe, pray, read the Bible, fast, witness, etc. AND YET, when they stand before God in judgment, He will say to them, "DEPART FROM ME. I NEVER KNEW YOU." And then, as they are led away to the eternal flames, in anger, they will gnash their teeth at Him!!! "BUT LOOK AT WHAT I HAVE D-O-N-E!!!!" That... was the problem, right THERE; Their whole walk with God was based upon what they DID, not upon what GOD'S SON did FOR them on the Cross!!!!! Ahhh, now there's a whole different Way of LOOKING at things, isn't it??
Friend, God owes you NOTHING. We ... owe Him EVERYTHING. Anything at all we receive from Him is based solely upon His Grace, through our faith in His Blood Sacrifice on the Cross... period. His Kingdom is not run like some business corporation, with Him as the CEO, and people "clock in their time" for Him. He wants RELATIONSHIP with us, with respect due to Him as our Father and our Creator. ... and He cares more about YOU than "what you can DO for Him". He does not need you for His Kingdom to continue; It can go on just fine without you. He gives us the PRIVILEGE of being a PART of it, out of mercy and LOVE! We all are unworthy beings, deserving of eternal hell. AFTER WE ARE SAVED, we are STILL indebted to Him, and at His mercy. We are as a branch attached to Him (the Vine), UTTERLY DEPENDENT UPON that Vine for even our EXISTENCE. "When I said, My foot slippeth; Thy mercy, O Lord, held me up." -(Psa. 94:18). You see what David wrote there? He was not even IN the new Covenant, like we are, and yet HE knew this.

The verse before that passage in Deuteronomy lays a condition... "IF you obey the Lord's judgments (commandments), and keep, and do them." Unless that latter is not there, and entrenched in... your life, you do not have the kind of faith that God requires. You see, it not the AMOUNT, OR QUANTITY of your faith, but it is the OBJECT of your faith! Read that scripture above (1 Peter 2:24) once again. What is the focus upon there? Friend, that is GOD"S focus, and it needs to be OUR'S too! ..."For the law of the Spirit of Life (THE HOLY GHOST) 'in Christ Jesus' (a faith in Christ and His Sacrifice) hath made me free from the law of sin and death (which includes SICKNESS!!!)." -(Rom. 8:2). Sometimes we do not know why we, or others, or our animals, are sick. It is still kind of a mystery to me, why it is, and why it may remain for a while. But one thing I DO know, is that Jesus can, and will heal. I , in my early 20's, nearly... died two different times from severe asthma. The second time, I had been saved for two years. The asthma is nearly gone now (I am 49) and even work out in 95 degree heat at times as a landscaper, with no troubles. Yet, at random times, the asthma still returns, leaving me gasping for breath, and I cry out "Please help me to be able to breathe, Lord Jesus." But I am still believing, and BELIEVE IN THE ABOVE. Job, WHILE YET COVERED IN BOILS, said 'Though He SLAY me, yet shall I trust in Him." And then... look at the end of the book of Job. :).
12. Jesus cursed a fig tree with leaves & no fruit (Mt. 21:18-19) Likewise, professing Christians under law will bear no fruit, be cursed, and whither (Gal.3:10-11).
Also Gal. 5:4. Jesus DOES give the fig tree some time (see Lk. 13:6-9), for He is merciful and patient. But eventually, even GOD'S patience wears out with those in unbelief! Sooo many in today's modern church have showy, glossy LEAVES, but not one FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT! (Gal. 5:22-23). Thus saith the LORD... "TIME IS UP!" "For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God..." -(1 Peter 4:17).
JESUS CHRIST.... "Who His Own Self bare our sins in His Own Body on the tree (Cross), that we, being dead to sins, should live unto Righteousness: by Whose stripes ye were HEALED." -(1 Pet. 2:24)

"Faith", not ONLY that God can and will do it.... but MORE IMPORTANTLY .... in CHRIST AND HIS SACRIFICE ON THE CROSS. Unless that latter is not there, and entrenched in... your life, you do not have the kind of faith that God requires. You see, it not the AMOUNT, OR QUANTITY of your faith, but it is the OBJECT of your faith! Read that scripture above (1 Peter 2:24) once again. What is the focus upon there? Friend, that is GOD"S focus, and it needs to be OUR'S too! ..."For the law of the Spirit of Life (THE HOLY GHOST) 'in Christ Jesus' (a faith in Christ and His Sacrifice) hath made me free from the law of sin and death (which includes SICKNESS!!!)." -(Rom. 8:2). Sometimes we do not know why we, or others, or our animals, are sick. It is still kind of a mystery to me, why it is, and why it may remain for a while.
